Τhe Waste2bio project team participated the “ORBIT 2016 International Conference” The Waste2bio project team participated the 10th International Conference on “Circular Economy and Organic Waste” that was held on 25-28 of May 2016 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece. The team presented the results of the project implementation in the two Municipalities up until now. BBI 2016 Open Info Day and brokerage event The Waste2bio project team participated the BBI open Info day and brokerage event that was held in Brussels on 21 April. The Open Info Day brought potential applicants together and provided information and networking opportunities in time for the 2016 Call for proposals. More information on the BBI are available here. Waste2bio team at Athens Science Festival The Waste2bio project team participated the Athens Science Festival along with the laboratory of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of the National Technical University of Athens. We feel very lucky that we were part of this team. Check one of the experiments conducted during the festival from undergraduate students of the school of chemical engineering Elephant’s Toothpaste. Operational Bioconversion Facility Τhe bioconversion facility is operational at the NTUA facilities for some time now. Continuous tests take place regarding the operational parameters of the facility. We are proud as a team for out achievement. Τhe 200L Bioconversion Facility for the Production of Ethanol from Biowaste is Finally Completely Installed at the NTUA Premises The bioconversion facility for the production of second generation of ethanol from household biowaste coming from Aspropyrgos and Papagos-Cholargos Municipalities has been completely installed at the NTUA premises. The treatment capacity of the facility is 200L and it is comprised of 2 bioreactors (one for the enzyme treatment of dried waste and one for the further treatment of waste with yeast. Welcome to Waste2bio

Welcome to the official web-site of the Waste2bio project. The project is co-funded by the LIFE+ instrument of the European Union (EU). The project’s total duration is 34 Months and the specific project aims to give the European Community with an innovative technology in the field of Bio-waste management. The proposed technology targets to convert through biological processes a large quantity of the produced Bio-waste (within the Municipalities participating the project) into bioethanol.
